Doctor Claims Watching 3D Movies Can Make You Sick?

I read an interesting article by Prateek Metha on the North by Northwestern blog today which said that a North western Opthomology Professor has said that watching 3D movies may not be all that good for us.

He states…

“Watching a movie like Cameron’s technological epic, “Avatar” – a 162-minute, 3-D extravaganza – is liable to cause headaches and nausea in a large percentage of the population. Has any one experienced such problems amongst our readers?

He goes on to explain it’s all about how our eyes work and that using 3D glasses is actually sending confused signals to our brain which can lead to quite severe headaches and feelings of nausea.

If this is found to be the case and more doctors get behind the argument we could find that people are reluctant to adobt the new technology being thwarted by the major AV manufacturers.

Feeling a stupid by wearing silly glasses and even suffering a temporary headache and nausea while watching a movie on the big screen for 2-3 hours might be fine but having that happen while watching TV in your home that could be a whole different ball game.
