The movie theater is a great place to see new movies and spend a good night out with friends. This combined with cutting edge film making technology and superb sound-systems make today’s movie experience one to savor more than ever before. With the massive wide screen’s and superb reproduction of the highest quality dolby sound tracks it is now possible to almost feel totally absorbed into the whole scene of the movie. This picture and the sound combination are now the most crucial part of the entire movie night out. But today it is possible to recreate this experience at home, without the crowds and having to drive to the movie theater.

Choosing A Night In At Your Own Home Theater

This is an idea which is now being adopted by more and more movie goers every year and it is showing no sign of slowing anytime soon. It seems as the technology improves and becomes more affordable, and more movies become available sooner after their initial release, more and more people are choosing a ‘night in’ with a good movie, rather than a ‘night out’ at the movie theater. This is due to the increasing interest and ownership of home theater systems (some times known as a home cinema system).

Setting Up A Basic Home Theater

A simple home theater can be set up with minimal fuss. All that you need to form a basic home theater system is a television set with a bigger than 27 inch wide screen,a reasonable quality DVD player and three decent speakers. These are the basic starting components of a simple home theater system.

This alone may be enough provide you the home entertainment experience you desire,by recreating your favorite movies in your own home. But whilst for some this will satisfy the urge for a home theater many will find that something is definitely still lacking with this out of the box solution. Those people who are looking for more won’t be disappointed. There are now numerous additional home entertainment components and furniture which can be added to the basic system to further enhance the home movie experience. In fact with todays home theater equipment suppliers the only limitations to your home theater system are your imagination, and budget.

The Home Theater Room

The size of the room is another consideration but even the smaller roon can be used to create a very credible home theater sound. Home theater experts recommend that the basis of a good home theater system should be a good sized and good quality televison set. The size of the TV should be judged carefully and it should not mean automatically the biggest affordable is best .When considering a purchase of TV for a home theater system the decision as to a suitable model should include practicality, and viewing requirements. A huge freestanding TV may not always be good for your home entertainment system and slim screen lcd televisons and plasma screen tv’s often wall mounted are becoming more popular as the space requirements are much less with enhanced picture quality. I recommend however, that the television set should not be smaller than 27 inches as less than this and the movie experience suffers significantly in your home theater setup.

Choosing The Right Speakers

Another recommendation is for choosing speakers, generally speaking the home cinema systems require good high quality speakers. In addition, should you find the speakers you choose don’t create the sound experience you are looking for you will want to be sure of the stores return policy to be sure of getting that sound just right .

Sometimes you may find that a speaker that sounded good in the store does not suit the requirements of your own room at home and creates a undesirable sound which can sometimes be improved by speaker placement and other techniques but in other cases a replacement speaker will be necessary. If your chosen store does not offer a replacement, option then look for another.

The DVD Player

In addition, to quality speakers you will need a DVD player. Some home theater experts believe all that is needed is any DVD player as almost all now offer a reasonable sound quality when used with good speakers and deliver clear and crisp images with a good TV. Although some DVD manufacturers state their DVD players offer a flicker-free picture, almost all DVD players now provide this feature as standard anyway.

Size Matters - Choosing The Right Home Theater Package For Your Room

The size of the room you intend to use for your home theater will dictate the size of televsion and also the number and type of home cinema speakers needed. In a larger room , you may need more than the basic three speakers system.Additional speakers can be added and even a subwoofer which will enhance the base sounds and is virtually essential if the home movie theater is to used in a very large room. Most importantly the picture and sound should make your home movie viewing on your home theater a enjoyable and exciting experience.
